Our Members of Parliament

Ian Murray MP

Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland

Ian Murray is the MP for Edinburgh South and Scottish Labour's only MP in Westminster. He is also a member of Keir Starmer's front bench as Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland.

After being elected in 2010 with a majority of just 316, after years of fierce campaigning and community activism he commands a majority of over 11,000.

Born and raised in Wester Hailes during the Thatcher years, he then went on to run his own companies and served as a councillor in Edinburgh. He brings this wealth of experience to his role as an MP and Shadow Cabinet member and knows the real value of a Labour Party that's in government
